Prerequisites/Notes: One 300-level French course or consent of instructor Catalog Description : The first capital of French colonial West Africa, Saint Louis is arguably the cradle of Senegalese literature. This course is a study of the works of selected writers who contributed to the emergence of the literature of the historic city and critically analyzes its thematic concerns and place in the discourse of Senegalese nationhood.
