Prerequisites/Notes: ANTH 110 or consent of instructor Catalog Description : This course will explore specific ethnographic case studies from cultural groups throughout the Pacific Islands, paying particular attention to ways in which research in this region has let to important theoretical contributions in the field of cultural anthropology. We will explore similarities and differences across Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia, examining historical processes as well as contemporary cultural change in the face of political transformation, economic development, and globalization.
