Catalog Description : This course covers the basics of congressional politics, including elections, the constitutional framework, committees, parties, and legislative procedures. Thematic focuses include strategies of legslative coalition building and the relative importance of partisanship, constituent pressures, and policy expertise in comgressional politics.
