This course will explore the role of documentary video in public life, the way in which new digital media are reshaping communities and civic engagement, and the potential of video as a creative medium of participatory democracy.
Topic for Spring 2015: The Civic Life Project
Civic Life Project at Lawrence uses the production of short video documentaries as a medium of democratic engagement. The course is a laboratory for community-based storytelling in which students work in teams on documentary projects with community partners.
