Prerequisites/Notes: ANTH 120 and junior standing or consent of instructor

Catalog Description : An examination of a particular topic in contemporary archaeological research. The specific topic investigated changes each year. Students are expected to carry out independent research on the topic, either through a review of relevant literature or through field or laboratory work.

Topic for Spring 2016: Exhibit Design and Construction
A hands-on introduction to the process of designing and building a museum exhibit. After background study on the theory and methods of exhibit design and construction, students will plan an exhibit, select objects, construct mounts, write text and labels, create text panels and labels, and install the exhibit in Briggs Hall 326. In addition to the prerequisites students must have some museum or collections experience to enroll.
