Catalog Description :
The purpose of this course is to survey the various genres of the Hebrew Bible, including narrative, law, poetry, historiography and prophecy. The main focus of the course will be a close reading of primary texts in order to familiarize students with major themes and scholarly debates. All readings are in English.
