Catalog Description : Examination of the psychology of prejudice. Readings and discussions cover general theories of prejudice as well as the dynamics of specific types of prejudice (e.g., racism, sexism). The specific areas covered may shift from year to year.

Topic for Fall 2016: Sex and Sexism
Examines social psychological theories and research on how gender affects social interaction, especially how heterosexual attraction shapes and maintains traditional sexist attitudes, subtle biases, and continued gender inequality. Requires in-depth critiques of published studies; intended for junior or senior psychology majors who have completed the Research Methods in Psychology sequence.
