Catalog Description : This course explores the emergence of tourism in the United States from the early national period to the present, paying particular attention to the dynamics of ethnicity and gender in shaping tourism within modern consumer culture. We will study a variety of primary and secondary sources, including travel narratives and films. (NA) Fulfills seminar requirement. PREREQUISITES: Sophomore standing or consent of instructor
