Catalog Description : This course examines the American Constitution's structure and purposes; who may authoritatively interpret the Constitution; and legal debates that have attended American constitutional development. It focuses particular attention on competing claims about the founding; interpretive expertise and authority; the contract and commerce clauses; the separation of powers; and federalism. PREREQUISITES: Sophomore standing
