Catalog Description : An opportunity for students to read and analyze primary literature on significant topics in geology.

Topic for Winter 2017: Physical Modeling of Earth Processes
An exploration of the design and use of scale and analog models of earth processes such as earth quakes, landslides, groundwater flow, and sediment transport. The course will cover theoretical underpinnings of scale models as well as their limitations. We will also explore data acquisition and temporal and spatial analysis techniques.
