Catalog Description :
This course will address an advanced topic in the sub-field of Comparative Politics, such as democracy and authoritarianism, politics of the city, political participation and social movements, gender and politics, or the comparative method.
Topic for Spring 2017: Recent Works in Comparative Politics
This seminar gives students the opportunity to engage with recently published and, in most cases, award-winning works – books and articles – in Comparative Politics. The course is designed to encourage students to reflect on the logic and practice of social science inquiry and to demonstrate a variety of approaches and methodologies used in the subfield. In addition to listed pre-requisites, GOVT 271 is strongly recommended.
