Spring Term 2018 Bizarrchaeology - 3295 - ANTH 326

Prerequisites/Notes: ANTH 120

Catalog Description : Much of the public’s interest in archaeology focuses on “mysteries” of the past or allegedly “unexplainable” phenomena. Since the past is largely impossible to know, it is easy to uncritically fill it with products of the imagination rather than products of ancient peoples. This course examines some of these “imaginary” pasts and the practice of creating them.
