Prerequisites/Notes: BIOL 130, and CHEM 115 or CHEM 116 Catalog Description : A study of microbial life with an emphasis on prokaryotes. Microbial physiology is examined in the context of how unique characteristics allow microbes to exploit a vast diversity of environments, including the human body. Laboratory exercises introduce students to techniques used to safely study microorganisms.
