Prerequisites/Notes: Sophomore standing Catalog Description : This course surveys the history of Great Britain from the political upheavals of 1688 to the present day. Emphasis will be on broad political and economic themes: the development of parliamentary democracy, the growth of modern industrial capitalism, and the extension and eventual collapse of the British Empire.
