Catalog Description : Introduction to the chemical processes that form igneous and metamorphic rocks, with emphasis on how mineralogical, chemical, and isotopic clues can be used to gather information about Earth’s early history and its inaccessible interior. One lab per week. PREREQUISITES: GEOL 110 and CHEM 116; GEOL 240 and GEOL 245
