Prerequisites/Notes: Sophomore Standing

Catalog Description : This course examines the history of yogic traditions in South Asia and explores contemporary developments of yoga practices around the world. In addition to studying primary texts and secondary literature students will also be instructed in basic pranayama (breathing) and asana (posture) practices by a qualified instructor. Students will write essays analyzing course materials through the lens of their own experiences with yoga practice. PREREQUISITES: Sophomore Standing
