Prerequisites/Notes: ANTH 120 and junior standing or consent of instructor Catalog Description : An examination of a particular topic in contemporary archaeological research. The specific topic investigated changes each year. Students are expected to carry out independent research on the topic, either through a review of relevant literature or through field or laboratory work. Topic for Spring 2020: Historic Archaeology of Northeast Wisconsin This course will examine the archaeological record for the pioneer period in Wisconsin (ca. 1750-1850), focusing on the Fox Cities. Specific areas of will include the historic native village of Grand Kakaulin and the DuCharme and Grignon trading posts.
