Catalog Description : Beginning with the late eighteenth century and concluding with art today, this course examines African-American history through visual culture. We will examine how race relations in the United States were and are constructed through an examination of painting, sculpture, public monuments, photography, advertising, and performance. PREREQUISITES: Sophomore standing
