Catalog Description : This course allows for an in-depth examination of various aspects of filmmaking, with a dual focus on close reading of related film studies texts and practical exploration of advanced techniques, culminating in a final video project. Topic for Spring 2020: Stop-Motion Animation In this course, students will watch and discuss diverse examples of stop-motion animation in film practice, and use the free Stop Motion Studio app with their smartphones to create a self-designed stop-motion animation project over the course of the term. This course is open to students with no experience in animation as well as students with prior coursework, who may choose to propose a more advanced project.
