Prerequisites/Notes: FREN 202 or consent of instructor Catalog Description : This course introduces students to a wide range of literary genres through a careful selection of short texts and films. We study how the French have written their literary history to create and reinforce a unique national identity through a close reading of the works of writers such as Villon, Labé, Molière, Voltaire, Hugo, Maupassant, Camus, and Duras.
