Catalog Description : An interdisciplinary examination of issues facing Native American women today. This course explores the ways gender, race and ethnicity shape identity as well as narrative constructions of nation in regional contexts. Readings by contemporary indigenous women authors, with field trips to federally recognized tribal lands and discussion with Native American women leaders, activists, scholars, musicians, artists and business leaders from a variety of nations.
