Prerequisites/Notes: Sophomore standing or consent of instructor Catalog Description : This course examines important questions about the lives of women in the last thousand years of Chinese history. Through an exploration of primary sources in translation, classic works of fiction, film, memoirs, and oral histories, we will address theoretical questions fundamental to both women’s studies and Chinese history.
