This course explores a topic in American politics, comparative politics, international politics, political theory, or another government subfield which is not addressed by the Government Department's regular course offerings.
Topic for Spring 2022: Gender, Health, and Human Security
This courses examines the relationship between human security, health, and gender with a particular focus on women and girls living in African countries. Topics to be considered include challenges facing women, including high rates of maternal mortality, access to reproductive rights, impact of early and forced marriage, and navigating roles as care-givers during a pandemic, such as Ebola or COVID 19.
