Winter Term 2023 Globalization, Poverty, and Development - 1953 - ECON 466

Prerequisites/Notes: Econ 300 and Econ 380

Catalog Description : This course is an exploration of how economic globalization shapes growth, development, and poverty outcomes in non-rich countries. We focus on three vehicles of economic globalization: trade (goods), foreign investment (capital), and migration (people). Our exploration is facilitated by careful reading and discussion of contemporary development research. Students will use real-world data to compare recent trends with theoretical predictions.
