Prerequisites/Notes: ARHI 101 or sophomore standing Catalog Description : Introduction to photography’s histories, from early attempts to fix light and shadows to the diverse digital practices of the present. Topics will include: social, scientific, and artistic uses of photography; theoretical and critical writings on photography and its place in our visual culture; and major figures, movements, and images.
