Prerequisites/Notes: Sophomore Rising Catalog Description : In the Middle Ages, scientia (knowledge) was pursued from basic levels of learning to read and write to the highest levels of measuring the heavens. As manuscripts, instruments, objects, and buildings attest, visual and material arts were integral to teaching and learning, and to examining the world. This lecture course focuses on the arts created to facilitate learning and experimenting across a variety of topics.
