Catalog Description : Nonprofit organizations have been spaces where radical social movements have found liberation and domestication. This course will explore the ways that intersectional, decolonial and queer activist negotiate, leverage, and collaborate with the nonprofit industrial complex to create social change in a system created to model oppressive structures rather than change them. Students will work with nonprofits to experience how activists create liberatory spaces in these organizations and enact social change. PREREQUISITES: GEST 300, 301 or 305.
