Catalog Description : This course introduces theoretical and practical aspects of ethical and responsible community engagement. Core themes include cultural humility, intersectionality, asset-based community development, collective impact theory, systems thinking, and impact assessment. Through discussion, written reflection, guest speakers, and observational trips, students explore their own motivations for community engagement while gaining transferrable skills for Community-Based Learning designated courses and other forms of community engagement at Lawrence.
