Catalog Description : The family is an integral feature of social life: We have all lived in families, managed family dynamics, and evaluated the role of family in our lives. This course will explore how the family, often characterized as an intimate component of our personal lives, is a social institution that is shaped by social, historical, cultural, legal, and economic structures.
