Catalog Description : Digital technologies give us incredible capabilities and allow us to shape our identities in unprecedented ways. But algorithms shape our individual identities and capacities as well. We will investigate the nature of digital technologies, algorithms, and machine learning. We will compare them with human psychological processes, assess their impacts on human society, and consider how best to address those impacts. Discussion based, written work and exams.
