Catalog Description : Ghosts, angels, spirits, UFOs and reincarnation: cultures around the world feature reports (and everyday practices) involving a variety of extraordinary phenomena, supernatural powers, and more-than-human entities. This course draws on scholarship in anthropological, ethnographic, historical, and religious studies to examine how scholars have studied apparently paranormal phenomena, and the often significant effects that reports of such phenomena have in culture and society.
