Catalog Description : This course examines the acquisition of Spanish as a second language (L2) in adults, covering L2 acquisition theories, learner difficulties, beliefs about L2 learning, motivations, and heritage language learning. Topics include grammatical and morphological challenges for English speakers learning Spanish and sociolinguistic and pragmatic aspects influencing the learning of L2 Spanish. Assignments: exams, papers , presentations, and projects. In Spanish. PREREQUISITES: One 300-level Spanish course, its equivalent, or consent of instructor.
