Catalog Description : This course allows for advanced practical work with various aspects of filmmaking. Topics may include specialized techniques or areas of practice, close focus on specific stages of preproduction, production, postproduction, or exhibition, or larger-scale creative projects. May be repeated when topic is different. Instructor approval is required. TOPICS FOR Winter 2026: Junior Production Practicum PREREQUISITES: Film Studies major, junior standing, and consent of instructor Over the course of the term, students will develop, propose, and workshop a short film/ video project concept for their creative capstone. Topics will include creative development, budgeting, scheduling, grant writing, pitching, preproduction, and distribution plans. Students will also explore career paths and create professional materials tailored to their individual goals. This course is designed for junior Film Studies majors planning to pursue a creative capstone.
