Catalog Description : Introducing interdisciplinary approaches to the study of race and ethnicity in mostly U.S. history and contemporary social issues. Topics including the emergence of ethnic studies as an interdisciplianary field; racial and ethnic formations in relation to colonization, slavery and migration; immigration; and resistance and social movements. Students learn through lecture/discussion with papers, presentations and exams.
