Prerequisites/Notes: PREREQUISITES: FIST 100 or instructor approval Catalog Description : This seminar surveys the history of global political filmmaking, using cinema to understand the political, and vice versa. Moving chronologically from the early 20th century to the current moment, the course will introduce students to the cinemas of the global south as well as queer, feminist, and Indigenous filmmaking. Written assignments work toward curating a program of six political films.
