Catalog Description : This project-based course encourages students to explore the variety of artistic, ensemble, and analytical skills required to create theatre collaboratively. Operating as both a means to inspire a deeper appreciation of the art form and to provide a foundation for theatre making at Lawrence, students in this class will explore a general field textbook and a variety of short-format plays. Through meeting with guest artists and experimenting with acting, playwrighting and design, students will understand how a play text serves as a blueprint for performance and often illuminates larger social and cultural issues.
