Catalog Description : This course introduces students to global and transnational feminisms, including critiques of Global North feminist universalism and imperialism. The course examines feminist organizing and struggles across geographic, temporal, and cultural contexts. Students explore issues important to transnational and global feminists, such as development, gender-based violence, and human rights, and analyze feminist activism around these issues.
