Catalog Description : This discussion-based course offers an introduction to the theory and practice of material culture studies. We will consider the materiality of things, how things shape us, how things shape history, and the exchange and circulation of things. Case studies will range across time periods and locations. Students will achieve an understanding of these theories, skills in acquiring primary/secondary research material, and presenting that research. PREREQUISITES: ARHI 101 or Sophomore Standing
