Catalog Description : This course explores the politics of sexual labor. Drawing on feminist, queer, and ethnic studies scholarship, students will evaluate how historical and contemporary discourses regarding sex work have translated into policies regulating sexuality, technology, migration, and labor. Controversies over how power, consent, and coercion operate in sexual labor will also be considered. The course will conclude with a study of contemporary sex work activism.
