Catalog Description : Discover how culture, identity, and everyday stress shape mental-health experiences for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Drawing on public health and sociological perspectives, this introductory course explores how social factors such as racism, colonial history, and systemic barriers shape BIPOC mental health experiences and treatment. Through lectures, discussions, and written assignments, students will consider mental health from a prevention and wellness promotion perspective.
