TOPICS FOR Spring 2027: Writing for Feminist Social Change
PREREQUISITES: GEST 100, or another GEST class or consent of instructor
This course introduces students to persuasive writing for feminist social movements. Students learn how arguments are structured, how evidence is used, and how writing functions as a tool for advocacy. This course examines writing across genres commonly used in social movements, including academic writing, op-eds, blogs, social media, and other creative forms. Students practice communicating academic research in accessible forms while developing critical thinking and argumentation skills.
Prerequisites/Notes: Writing for Feminist Social Change Catalog Description : Explores a particular topic of current interest in gender studies, and may be cross-listed with other departments. Topics will vary with each offering of the course. Different iterations of the course may be taken for credit with the instructor's consent.
