Catalog Description : This course surveys American architecture from the colonial period to the present, examining how buildings reflect social, cultural, and environmental histories, with attention to the relationship between architecture, landscape, and identity. We will explore major architectural styles, building types, and regional traditions. Additionally, we will examine historic house museums, outdoor museums, and preserved landscapes as sites of interpretation. PREREQUISITES: Sophomore Standing
